Everton Boss Sam Allardyce Wants New Striker Amid Reports Of £20m Deal With Champions League High Flyers
Everton manager Sam Allardyce wants a new striker in January according to the Daily Mail.
Per the source, the Toffees are interested in Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun and would be able to match his £20 million valuation.
Allardyce does however, want a striker who will be able to adapt quickly to the Premier League.
Tosun is a Turkish international and while he has not played in England before he was born in Germany and rose through the youth ranks of Bundesliga outfit Frankfurt.
A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that the Toffees are the closest out of the interested parties to signing Tosun.
Besiktas have been reluctant to sell Tosun in January but will be forced to consider an offer that meets their asking price due to their current financial situation.
The striker has also been scouted by Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Chelsea.
The 26-year-old has played a key role in Besiktas lifting the league title for the past two seasons.
The powerful striker registered 24 goals in all competitions last season.
Tosun has 13 goals and three assists this campaign including four goals and two assists in Champions League.

The star striker also picked up the Champions League goal of the group stage award for the second season running.
Besiktas became the first Turkish side to book a place in the Champions League Last 16 as group leaders.
The Istanbul giants topped Group G, beating Porto, Monaco and Red Bull Leipzig away from home.
The Black Eagles will face German giants Bayern Munich in the next round.
