Everton Striker Reveals What He Plans To Do To Liverpool In Merseyside Derby

The Merseyside Derby is not far away now, Everton will welcome cross-city rivals Liverpool to Goodison Park on April 8 2018.

Everton striker Cenk Tosun missed the derby clash in January after completing his transfer a few days later than expected.

The Reds came out on top in the FA Cup that day but Tosun is hoping to get his side a memorable victory.

The 26-year-old is fully aware of just how important the derby is and underlined that he is fully focused on the encounter.

Tosun underlined that his aim is to score against Liverpool and show his dedication to the team.

“It really is a big deal,” Tosun said in an interview with the Hurriyet.

“It is such a big game and means so much to the club.

“I am completely focused on the derby, I am preparing myself physically and mentally, I know what is required in these clashes.

“I plan to score, it would be incredible to score against Liverpool and really show the fans how much I care.”

Tosun had an impressive derby record at Besiktas and scored in the 3-0 win over Galatasaray in his last one.

The Turkey international has put on his best performances of the season in big games scoring four times and providing two assists in the Champions League.

The 26-year-old helped guide Besiktas through the group stage as leaders for the first time.

Tosun has four goals in his last three games for the Toffees but faces a huge test in his next two games which will be against Manchester City and Liverpool.

Fortunately, both games will be played at Goodison Park where Everton have won their last three games at home.
