The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen heaped praise on Mesut Özil for his opening goal during Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb.
The 27-year-old headed in from close range and risked being clattered by the Croatian sides goalkeeper Eduardo.
“He’s a brave player there, he could get clattered by the keeper but he does everything you want,” Owen stated while commentating for BT Sport Europe.
“Heads it low back where it came from forgetting about whether he can get hit or not.”
Özil received a rating of 8.9 from WhoScored for his performance against Zagreb. The Germany international provided four key passes, took three shots on target and made three accurate crosses.
The Arsenal playmaker also scored his sides opening goal and maintained a passing accuracy of 88%. Özil has scored in some of Arsenal’s most important goals this season netting against Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
The Gunners go into the groups final game needing a big win over Olympiakos. Arsenal need to beat the Greek Super League side by two goals if they are to qualify to the Last 16.
