‘He’s keen on joining’ – Club vice-president confirms £30m Tottenham outcast wants Super Lig move

Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko continues to be linked with a move to Trabzonspor.

Vice-president of the Super Lig outfit Gencaga Meric revealed that Sissoko is keen on the move.

Meric also stated that Tottenham have yet to be convinced.

Trabzonspor have submitted their offer and are waiting for a decision from Spurs.

“Sissoko is keen on joining, we have spoke with him and talks went well,” Meric was quoted as saying by Turkish-Futbol.

“We have yet to convince Tottenham or their manager.

“Tottenham want to recoup most of what they invested in Sissoko but we want him on loan.

“We have made our offer and are waiting for a decision.”

Trabzonspor president Muharrem Usta has also confirmed talks with the France international.

“We are in talks with Moussa Sissoko,” Usta said.

“He is a very important player, Tottenham paid £35 million for him.

“He didn’t live up to expectations last season but this can happen in football.

“We want to loan him and get his career back on track.

“Obviously Tottenham do not want to give up on a player they paid that kind of money for but we will see.”

Sissoko joined Spurs on a £30 million [BBC] move from Newcastle last summer and still has another four-years remaining on his contract.

The 27-year-old failed to settle in last season and has been linked with a summer exit.

The club are keen on making a marquee signing to celebrate their 50th year anniversary since the foundation of the club.
