Liverpool keen to keep international star Emre Can as as contract runs into final 12 months
According to the Guardian, the Merseyside based club want to extend Can’s contract this summer. The 23-year-old has a little over a year remaining on his contact with Liverpool.
Contract talks between Liverpool and Can are yet to take place. However, manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that negotiations will get under way at the end of the season.
The Guardian goes onto say that Can is looking for a £100,000 per week deal.
Can has established himself as a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s side in recent weeks. The Germany international played a staring role during Liverpool’s victory over West Brom last weekend.
Liverpool take on relegation battlers Crystal Palace this weekend as they look to consolidate their place in the top four.
Emre Can has three assists and four goals in 35 apperances for Liverpool this season.
