Real Madrid full-back Sergio Ramos loves his club according to Galatasaray midfielder Jose Rodriguez.
The 20-year-old revealed that he is not surprised that his former teammate is staying at Real despite being closely linked with a move to Manchester United.
Rodriguez told Goal: “I’m very happy with Sergio Ramos’s renewal. I sent him a message when we landed at Madrid. He is 100 per cent Madridista, he is the captain. Sometimes, people went too far talking about him with things that weren’t true.”
United had a £28.6 million offer for Ramos rejected in June according to the BBC and have been keeping close tabs on the World Cup winner since.
Ramos signed a five-year contract extension deal on Monday to keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2020.
The Spanish international is the longest-serving player in the current Real Madrid squad having joined the La Liga giants from Sevilla in 2005.
Ramos and Rodriguez are expected to face each other tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu Trophy match tonight between Galatasaray and Real Madrid.
Rodriguez put pen-to-paper on a four year deal with Galatasaray. The former Real Madrid midfielder will earn €3.3 million over the four years and a €10,000 bonus per appearance.
