Arsenal star Mesut Özil convinced Chelsea winger Marko Marin to consider a move to Trabzonspor according to Fotospor.
Marin is set to arrive in Turkey ahead of his move to Trabzonspor according to Fanatik after reaching an agreement with the club.
The latest report follows Fanatik claiming that Trabzonspor were preparing a €2.5 million bid for the Chelsea winger.
The Turkish sports newspaper claims that Marin consulted Germany national teammate Özil about Süper Lig football.
Özil has never played in Turkey but is of Turkish origin and maintains close ties with the country.
The World Cup winner recently revealed that he supported Fenerbahçe growing up and that he wants to play in the league in the future..
“In the future I want to wear a Fenerbahçe shirt it would be an honour,” Özil told the Sabah.
The 26-year-old also confirmed that he has always been a Yellow Canaries fan to the Turkish newspaper.
“Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahçe fan,” he said.
Özil is expected to start for Arsenal against Liverpool at the Emirates stadium on Monday 24 August.
