“Mesut is a very good player, we all know about his quality, we all know about what he has done in the game,” he told Arsenal Player.
“He is a world champion, you have to respect that and his vision on the pitch is tremendous.
“He is an amazing player. When he is on song like he was in the FA Cup final, he is difficult to stop.”
Henry recently criticised Özil’s record against the top four sides in the Premier League.
“I will single out, Mesut Özil that was his eighth game against a top four side, 0 goals and 2 assists that is not enough,” Henry said speaking on Sky Sports.
Henry also stated that Özil has performed below the level of former Arsenal playmaker Cesc Fabregas.
“Overall since he joined Arsenal he has 14 assists, if you take Cesc he did that in one season 16 assists,” he added.
Özil winner joined Arsenal in September 2013 from Real for a record £42.5 million.
The World Cup winner has been in Los Angeles on holiday for the past week and has kept his social media followers updated with his day to day activities.
