Manchester United legend and BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand has revealed he believes that Arsenal stars Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez are on fire.
Özil and Sanchez both scored in the 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Emirates stadium keeping the Gunners hopes of Champions League Last 16 qualification alive.
“These two they play in tandem together, they are on the same wave length, they are on fire and they are a hard pair to stop,” Ferdinand said speaking after the game on BT Sport.
Özil scored the opening goal on 29 minutes heading in a cross from Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean international also got his name on the scoresheet in what was a brilliant performance from both players.
The 28-year-old playmaker now has three goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season. All of Özil’s assists have come in the Premier League while two of his goals have been scored in the Champions League.
The Gunners have to beat Olympiakos who lost to Bayern Munich today if they are to book a place in the next round.
Arsenal will play Olympiakos in Greece but lost the first game against the Greek giants at the Emirates.
