Nani has encouraged Fenerbahçe to sign former Manchester United teammate Robin van Persie and underlined that he would fit in well at the club.
The 28-year-old winger was asked if he has had the chance to speak about the ongoing talks between United and Fenerbahçe over Van Persie at his official signing ceremony.
“No I have not had the chance to speak with him yet but if he is coming here I think it is a very good decision to come here as he is a very experienced player and a player who will score goals,” Nani told Turkish-football.com sources at the signing ceremony.
“I know him well we are good friends so if the club signs him it will be a great choice.”
Nani has officially completed his transfer from United to Fenerbahçe after being unveiled in a signing ceremony held at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium.
The Portuguese international signed on a €6 million transfer fee on a three-year contract.
Turkish-football.com editor Emre Sarıgül and Jackson broke news of a Fenerbahçe offer for Van Persie on Saturday 4 July in an exclusive for the Guardian.
The 31-year-old striker has reached an agreement-in-principle with the Süper Lig giants and talks between United and the club are ongoing.
