Former Arsenal player Robert Pires has stated that Mesut Özil has a near perfect understanding of his teammates.
“You can see that his understanding with Aaron, Santi, Alexis or Olivier is perfect. I love seeing Mesut, Aaron and Olivier exchanging those short passes,” Pires told the official Arsenal website.
Giroud has now scored in each of his last six league appearances and has a total of 18 goals in all competitions this season
Özil has been in good form since returning from an injury that saw him sidelined for three months and established good synergy with his teammates.
The World Cup winner has been directly involved in seven goals in his last eight league games for Arsenal, scoring three and assisting in four.
Özil averages 51 passes per-game at an 86 percent accuracy rate according to Whoscored.
The 26-year-old completed 47 passes in the opposition half in the 4-1 win over Liverpool on the weekend, more than any other player according to the Daily Mail.
The Gunners are currently second in the Premier League, seven points behind league leaders Chelsea.
