Per Mertesacker has made a return to the Gunners starting line-up and will partner Calum Chambers in defence.
Spurs are coming off the back of a moral boosting 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace while the pressure is on Arsenal after losing back to back games.
The Gunners suffered defeats at the hands of both Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League and to Chelsea in the Premier League.
Özil started against Chelsea and made the joint highest number of interceptions in midfield (2) but was dispossessed three times. The 26-year-old also maintained a 90 percent pass accuracy and made the joint highest number of key passes (2).
