Besiktas board member Erdal Torunoğulları has confirmed that Besiktas will sign a goalkeeper during the upcoming January transfer window.
“We are currently working on transfers but are yet to sit down and discuss developments with our manager (Senol Gunes).” Torunoğulları told NTVSpor.
“We are looking to sign a defender and a goalkeeper.”
Beşiktaş vice-president Ahmet Nur Çebi has confirmed interest in Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina following a week of speculation linking the Black Eagles with the Colombian international.
Çebi said speaking on Beyaz TV: “We are interested in Ospina and goalkeepers of his caliber but just because we want him does not mean he come we have to agree with his club and take his contract into consideration.”
The Black Eagles are in the market for a new goalkeeper in January following a string of costly errors from current keeper Tolga Zengin.
Zengin conceded two soft goals against Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League on Thursday which saw the Portuguese side come from behind to beat Beşiktaş and dump the Black Eagles out of the Europa League.
Beşiktaş are currently first in the Turkish Super League and managed by former Turkish national team head coach Şenol Güneş.
