Chelsea winger Marko Marin has arrived in Turkey at the Trabzon airport on a private jet ahead of completing his transfer to Trabzonspor.
Marin was greeted by Trabzonspor fans at the airport and left wearing a team scarf.
Trabzonspor sporting director Suleyman Hurma confirmed that the club are on the verge of completing the Marin transfer yesterday.
“He will arrive in Trabzon tonight [Monday] and undergo a medical tomorrow before completing his transfer,” he told Lig Tv.
The German winger joined the Blues from Werder Bremen in 2012 for €8 million but struggled for playing time and spent the last three seasons out on loan at Sevilla, Fiorentina and Anderlecht.
Fanatik previously reported that Trabzonspor were preparing a €2.5 million bid for the Chelsea winger.
Marin will undergo a medical before putting pen-to-paper on a deal with the Black Sea Storm.
Trabzonspor are currently joint first in the Süper Lig after winning both opening games of the season and coached by Shota Arveladze who replaced Ersun Yanal over the summer transfer window.
The Black Sea Storm have had a busy transfer window signing Europa League winner M’bia, Lazio full-back Cavanda, Turkish international Okay Yokuşlu and Hull City striker Dame N’Doye should the transfer go ahead as planned.
