Barcelona made history yet again extending their unbeaten run to a record 38 games after drawing 2-2 against Villarreal at the El Madrigal.
Despite hitting another milestone Barca were not in celebratory mood as they blew a two-goal lead to end up drawing what looked like a routine victory at half time.
The draw also marked the end of Arda Turan’s 16 match win streak in games he has featured in for Barca this season.
Here are three things we learned from his display.
1. Passing the Barcelona way
We have been passing Turan’s passing of the past few weeks as he has been hitting an average of 91.7 percent accuracy. The Turkish international managed to achieve a 97 percent of his 67 passes last week against Getafe and just to prove it was not a fluke had an accuracy rate of 95 percent against Villarreal.

2. Sturdiness
Turan does not shy away from big games or raucous fans away from home after all he is used to playing on the road in Turkey against the likes of Fenerbahce and Besiktas. The bearded winger gave Barca grit in midfield constantly closing down and harassing the opposition. The 29-year-old made the joint highest number of interceptions (2) and his teammates missed his presence after he was subbed off. Perhaps it was just coincidence but Barca conceded both goals against Villarreal after he was subbed off.

3. Agression
The good news is he has not been sent off yet. The bad news is he has been booked in his last two consecutive games. Aggression is part of Turan’s game it is in many ways an attribute but if he does not keep it under control it could end up working against him. Hopefully there will be no boot throwing incidents this season.
