Beşiktaş have released a statement denying that goalkeeper coach Jose Sambade blocked the Victor Valdes transfer.
The Manchester United goalkeeper was closely linked with a move to the Black Eagles over the summer transfer window but the deal fell through after failing to agree terms.
The statement read: “Reports that goalkeeping coach Jose Sambade stopped the transfer of Victor Valdes are false.”
The Fanatik newspaper claimed that goalkeeping coach Sambade vetoed the transfer of Valdes after the club had agreed terms with him.
The report claims that Sambade convinced the board not to pursue the Spanish international and World Cup winner.
The Black Eagles had reportedly agreed terms to a €1.7 million deal for the United keeper.
Valdes is expected to leave United over the winter transfer window after falling out of favour with manager Louis van Gaal.
The Spanish international and World Cup winner has been left out of the Champions League squad and has not been assigned a shirt number in the Premier League.
