Besiktas’s hopes of signing the French international Loic Remy suffered a dent after Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho confirmed the striker will remain at the club.
According to the Guardian both Crystal Palace and West Ham are interested in the 28-year-old. Besiktas have also been closely linked with the former Newcastle striker.
“No chance. I like the Eiffel Tower, but I can’t have it in my garden,” Mourinho stated at a pre-season press conference.
“Last season Remy was basically the third forward, but he scored so many important goals for us in crucial moments that gave us crucial points – the goal against Hull City, the goal against Stoke at the end of the season.”
Besiktas are in the market for a striker after Chinese giants Shanghai Shenhua snapped up Demba Ba for €14 million.
Remy – who has three years remaining on this contact with the Blues – provided two assists and scored nine goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season.
