Turkish sports minister Osman Askin Bak has revealed his thoughts on Cenk Tosun’s reported transfer to Everton.

Bak stated that Tosun was deserving of a major transfer and that he hopes the Besiktas star will represent his country to the best of his ability in England.

“Cenk Tosun earned himself a big transfer on the back of his league and Champions League form,” Bak said.

“He deserved a big transfer like this.

“We need more players like Cenk.

“I am proud of him and Besiktas, I wish him all the best, god willing he will represent our country abroad to the best of his ability.”

The Guardian reported that Everton have beat off competition from several Premier League sides to agree a deal for Besiktas striker Tosun.

The Toffees have reportedly struck a £25m deal with Besiktas to sign the Turkish international.

The 26-year-old is expected to sign a four-and-a-half year deal with the Premier League outfit.
