Fenerbahce released an official statement denouncing the story as ‘fake news’ and urged the newspapers to be more responsible.
The statement read: “The article published today in both the Fanatik and Aksam newspapers claiming that we have struck a €12m [£10.5m] deal with AC Milan are false. We have not received such an offer. We urge these newspapers not to share fake news and be more responsible in leading the public.”
The news will come as a boost to Arsenal and Liverpool who have also been targeting the defender.
The reported AC Milan deal did come across as odd considering Turksvoetbal reported the Gunners had a £10.5 million offer made for Kjaer rejected.
Turkish-Football report that the Reds have been targeting Kjaer since radar since pulling out talks to sign Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
Fenerbahce are demanding £17.5 million for their star man who has another two-years remaining on his contract.
The Yellow Canaries are in no rush to sell Kjaer but will consider offers that match their valuation.
