Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren started in the Reds 2-0 win over Newcastle United at Anfield yesterday.
Lovren partnered Emre Can at centre-back and the duo helped Liverpool keep their first clean sheet in two games.
The Croatian defender was full of praise for Can after the game and revealed he was impressed with how well the 21-year-old coped with being played in a back-four.
“It was the first time Emre [Can] and I played together, because he’s not used to being in the back four. He did an amazing job. He’s doing a great job here at Liverpool. He can play in almost every position. He’s unbelievable,” Lovren told the official Liverpool website.
