AC Milan have joined Manchester United in the hunt for Bayer Leverkusen’s playmaker Hakan Çalhanoğlu according to the Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
The report states that Milan are drawing up a shortlist of the world’s best young talent and Tuttosport claim that Çalhanoğlu will be the Serie A giants primary target.
Man Utd are also preparing a move for the Turkish international according to the Dutch football outlet Soccer News.
Çalhanoğlui s regarded as being one of the best set-piece specialists around and has received rave reviews from Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola who said: “Çalhanoğlu is one of the best free-kick takers in the Bundesliga.”
The Turkish international scored the highest number of free-kick goals – in the top five leagues in Europe – Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 – last season.
Çalhanoğlu joined Bayer from HSV on a €15 million transfer last season and was selected as the sixth most valuable U-21 players in the world list by Soccerex.
The 21-year-old has provided one assists and scored five goals in 11 appearances for Leverkusen this season.
