Mesut Ozil reveals he has a sixth sense
“He has worked hard, I think he has taken to the fact that he wants to be stronger,” Wenger was quoted as saying on the official Arsenal website.
“You have more time to focus on it [when you are injured]. Every day he is in the gym and he can work on it and as well you don’t have the fatigue of the games.”
Özil has been keeping his social media followers up to date with his workout progress.
The 26-year-old playmaker recently posted an image on his Twitter pumping iron and tweeted: “I’m relieved about yesterday’s victory but nevertheless these weights feel heavy on my shoulders.”
There were concerns that Özil was struggling with the physical nature of the Premier League prior to his injury.
The World Cup winner played his first game against Stoke City two weeks ago since damaging his knee ligaments during a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in October.
Özil played 17 minutes in the Gunners 3-0 win over Stoke City but was left on the bench in the 2-0 win over Manchester City due to lacking match fitness.
The record £42.5 million Arsenal star signing is expected to play against Brighton in the FA Cup on Sunday.
