Arsenal star Mesut Özil has created more chances than any other player in Europe according to the Daily Mail.
The World Cup winner has created a total of 54 chances this season which is seven more than his closest rival Dimitri Payet of West Ham.
The 27-year-old has been in great form for the Gunners providing 10 assists in 11 league games which is also the highest in Europe’s top five leagues – England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
The Arsenal playmaker also holds the record for assists provided in consecutive Premier League games (6) which he also broke this season.
ESPN report that the north London based club are nearing an agreement over extending the contract of Özil.
The Germany international of Turkish origin joined Arsenal on a £42.5 million move from Real Madrid in 2013 and still has another two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract but the north London outfit want to tie him down to a long-term agreement.
The new contract if completed is likely to make Özil the highest paid player at the club and perhaps the Premier League. Özil is already the 12th highest paid footballer in the world when his total earnings are factored in according to Forbes.
