The German football journalist Rafael Honigstein has backed Jurgen Klopp to find Emre Can’s best position.
Honigstein stated that Can’s versatility could prove to be a disadvantage in the long run. Can has played every Premier League game since Jurgen Klopp was appointed as Liverpool manager in Brendan Rodger’s place.
“I think he’s good at a lot of things but not very, very good at anything in particular. It can sometimes be a disadvantage for versatile players like Can because they are always moved around,” Honigstein told GiveMeSport.
“I’m sure Klopp will find out what’s best for him.”
Can played a major role in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Chelsea in the Premier League. The 21-year-old started in midfield and helped the Reds control possession for most of the game completing the highest number of passes in midfield (74) at an 84 percent.
The 21-year-old worked hard on the defensive end and contributed in the final third with two key passes – joint highest in the team.
The win took Liverpool into 7th place on 17 points meanwhile Chelsea languish in 15th place on 11 points.
