Liverpool should play Balotelli & Sturridge against Besiktas says John Aldridge [divider]
Liverpool legend John Aldridge revealed that he believes Brendan Rodgers should play with two strikers up front against Beşiktaş in the Europa League Round of 32 first-leg game.
Aldridge wrote the following in his Liverpool Echo column:
“As I say, Besiktas won’t be an easy game by any means, and there is a lot of onus on the home leg in this tie. My thinking is that Liverpool should go on the front foot from the start, and that means two up front.”

The former Liverpool player believes Mario Balotelli and Daniel Sturridge should play together against the Black Eagles.
Aldridge wrote: “I’d attack them by playing Mario Balotelli alongside Daniel Sturridge in attack. I think this game, a home game against a team that will be wary of Anfield, is the perfect opportunity to see if that partnership can develop.”
The Black Eagles travel to England this week to take on Liverpool at Anfield on Thursday 19 February.
The return leg will be played the following week on Thursday 26 February at the Atatürk Olympic stadium.
Beşiktaş are currently 1st in the Turkish Süper Lig following their 3-2 victory over Bursaspor last weekend.
The Eagles have 47 points in 20 games and take on Eskisehirspor next.
